Parke Stalcup

Parke Stalcup graduated with a B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Alabama in 1995. Having read For the Children’s Sake in 2002, Parke soon read Charlotte Mason’s words for herself and knew she had finally found a philosophy of education that she actually agreed with both in principle and practice. Over the next few years, Parke joined and helped lead a CM study group, and began to implement what she had been learning about with her growing family.

Through the years, Parke has worn many CM hats including homeschooling, starting a homeschool co-op, and working with a CM school. She currently teaches 6th grade and oversees the middle school at Crestwood Day School in Birmingham, Alabama. She is the mother of five boys (ages 12-19), all of whom she has home educated. Parke enjoys all things CM, but curriculum development and books (of course!) are her passions. She has been known as the local book lady for years, scouring thrift stores, library sales, and yard sales looking for living books, and passing them along to other CM moms.
